Direct rental

Direct rental lets you share one of your servers with a specific person by a private link, without a marketplace. Your guest opens the link, chooses what to run, and gets a container with the server’s GPU for the time you allow.

Flotera does not charge for direct rental and takes no payment from your guest: the guest page shows Price: no charge.

  1. You create a link in the server card and send it to your guest.
  2. Your guest opens the link, picks a template from the catalog or their own Docker image, enters an email address, and selects Start rental.
  3. Flotera starts the container on your server. Your guest gets its addresses on the page and by email.
  4. The rental ends at the limit you set, or earlier if you or your guest stop it. The container and its disk are deleted.
  • A server has one link at a time, and a link allows one rental.
  • Anyone who has the link can start the rental. Send it only to your guest.
  • The container gets all GPUs of the server for the whole rental.
  • The container runs without privileged mode, host folders, or the host network. You see what it runs and can stop the rental at any time.

While a link waits for a guest or its rental runs, Flotera pauses this server’s listings on all connected marketplaces, the same way as when a marketplace rents it. The listings return to search about 5 minutes after the link closes. See selling on several marketplaces.
