Guest page

Your guest opens the link in a browser and does not need a Flotera account. You can send them this page.

The page shows the server’s GPU and other specifications, the rental limit, and Price: no charge. The ring in the top right corner counts down the time left to open the link and turns yellow in the last 5 minutes. Point at it to see the exact end time.

Under Choose what to run, your guest picks one of two modes:

  • From the catalog: ready templates, for example JupyterLab with PyTorch or TensorFlow, ComfyUI, Fooocus and InvokeAI for images, Open WebUI with Ollama and llama.cpp server for chat, Axolotl and Unsloth for fine-tuning.
  • My own container: any public Docker image with the settings below.
Setting What it does
Docker image A public image from Docker Hub, ghcr.io, quay.io, or nvcr.io, as repository:tag or repository@sha256:…. Private registries are not supported.
Ports 1 to 8 ports. A web port gets its own https address. An ssh port is reached through cloudflared. An optional label names the address.
Start script Optional Bash script, up to 60 lines. It replaces the image’s own command; leave it empty to run the image as it is.
Environment variables Optional, one NAME=value per line, up to 32. They are stored encrypted, but the server owner can see them in the container.
Container disk 50 GB or 100 GB.

Your guest enters an email address and selects Start rental. The page shows the progress and then the addresses. Starting usually takes a few minutes; a large image takes longer the first time it downloads to the server. The same details arrive by email, together with a link to stop the rental.

  • Web: Open opens the address, Copy copies it.
  • SSH: install cloudflared once (macOS brew install cloudflared, Windows winget install Cloudflare.cloudflared, Linux: package cloudflared), then select Copy command and run it in a terminal. The command logs in as root.

For SSH in their own container, the start script must run sshd and set a password or a key. For example, with the ubuntu:24.04 image, port 22 set to ssh, and the variable ROOT_PASSWORD:

Terminal window
export DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive
apt-get update && apt-get install -y openssh-server
mkdir -p /run/sshd && ssh-keygen -A
echo "root:$ROOT_PASSWORD" | chpasswd
printf 'PermitRootLogin yes\nPasswordAuthentication yes\n' > /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/flotera.conf
exec /usr/sbin/sshd -D -e

The ring shows the hours and minutes left, and the GPU belongs to your guest for the whole rental. Bookmark the page: it shows the time left and the addresses while the rental runs.

If the server goes offline, the rental is paused and keeps its end time. When the server is back, the container starts again and new addresses arrive by email; the old ones stop working. Files inside the container are not kept across a restart.

The rental ends at its limit. Your guest can end it earlier with Stop my rental on the page or with the stop link in the email. Either way, the container and its disk are deleted at once, and the link cannot be used again.

If the link no longer opens a rental, the page says why: it has expired, was revoked, or was already used. Your guest needs a new link from you.
